About This Spot

Walking into Hutchens Barbeque of Benton feels like stepping into a cherished gathering place where time slows down just enough to savor familiar flavors and friendly faces. Nestled in the heart of Benton, this is much more than your typical barbecue joint—it’s a spot where neighbors find comfort in hearty plates and a warm welcome that never feels rushed. The air often carries the quiet hum of conversation, punctuated by the occasional clinking of coffee mugs and the inviting aroma of smoked meats mingling with fresh coffee and country-style sides.

The pace here respects the day’s rhythm; whether you arrive early for a breakfast sandwich or later in the afternoon seeking a generous rack of ribs, there’s a calm, steady flow that invites lingering conversations and genuine moments. The staff’s easy camaraderie enhances the feeling that you’re not just grabbing a meal but joining a community table. It’s the kind of place where the daily specials become a small ritual—each plate thoughtfully prepared and just right for the season.

The food, rooted deeply in Kentucky tradition, carries the quiet confidence of recipes perfected over many years. You might find yourself enjoying crispy catfish that flakes perfectly, a sausage omelette that warms you from the inside out, or a pulled pork sandwich marked by that subtle, smoky kiss. Classic sides like coleslaw or fried squash arrive alongside these dishes, rounding out the kind of comfort that feels both familiar and satisfying without fuss.

There’s a distinct pleasure in watching the ebb and flow of locals stopping in, some grabbing breakfast, others settling in for plates piled high with ribs or turkey barbeque. The atmosphere bridges generations—a timeworn charm that blends the warmth of family gatherings with the simplicity of good, honest food. Hutchens Barbeque doesn’t shout its story loudly; instead, it invites you to lean in and experience the quiet joy of a meal well made and a place where you might just find your new favorite spot in Benton.

Hutchins has been around since I've lived in KY and has a long history of serving good food at a fair price. Our recent visit was no exception! Morgan took our order after a short wait and we both ordered the 2 pc catfish dinner. The fish was outstanding, breaded just right. It was so hot we had to wait a bit in order to sample but the wait was worth it, crispy on the outside, fresh, flaky and tender inside. The sides were no disappointment either: delicious hushpuppies, tasty greens, real mashed potatoes w gravy, crispy Cajun fries and some of the best green beans I've had in a while, only my wife makes better. You'll have to try this place if you haven't been in a while, cant wait till we sample their Friday night seafood buffet!

Awsome place! Had the pulled Pork plate with white beans and slaw. A lot of food for the price of $12.99

Wow. What can I say? The best BBQ I've had since I've moved to Kentucky. The food was amazing. The flavor is spot on. There was a smoke ring on the pork and you could taste the perfection. The sides were cooked perfectly. The waitresses were really friendly. Felt like a family dinner. Ohh and I can't leave out how out this world the blue cheese is. Can't wait to come back.

I come to Benton for work, and my car turns into the parking lot every time! Never had anything bad! Always delicious!!! Normally l just ask what the daily special is, yummy as hell! If you don’t come , at least just Thur the drive through and eat here you might be slightly off in the head! Check yourself!

Living out of state, we have not been to Hutchins BBQ in years and were looking forward to eating their wonderful barbecue, as we remember it. We arrived there and found out their barbecue pits were down: there was no barbecue! We were so disappointed but we stayed anyway. My wife ordered chicken livers, mashed potatoes, and slaw. I ordered a cheeseburger, loaded, and cajun fries. Their sandwiches are unique, in that they put them together and then smash the bun down with a hot grill. It's unique and very tasty with the barbecue. I wasn't too crazy about it with my hamburger. My wife's chicken livers, with gravy and mashed potatoes and slaw, were very good. One of our party ordered a breaded tenderloin, it was huge and said to be delicious. The service was friendly and fast. If this review was helpful, please give me a thumbs up.

Hello Everyone Yesterday was the 1st time I've ever been .. & I must have to say there Meatloaf was sum kinda delicious ,plus the mash potatoes, cream corn!! All of it was banging! I'd definitely recommend stopping by there as long as you're not in a hurry.. Oops hold on.... I honestly can't say that bc I've only been there once.. But the waitress was working the whole entire restaurant by herself.. The only thing she wasn't doing was cooking and I believe she'd done that too if she'd had too.. she was a very sweet waitress.. My Aunt was with us.. She lives not to far from there and goes I believe quite often.. She said the lady that was doing it all was the owner.. well I must say she's one hard working woman.. And the food was super satisfying ... the price was kinda of high but this day & time what can anybody expect it not to cost quite a few pennies.. Anyways if you want sum GOOD GOOD tasting food??? Then stop by there I'd recommend it!!

My wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday around 1:30 pm and the place was packed. We found out that it was the second day they have been open since the tornado blew through town and closed them for a while. We had to wait for a couple of tables to clear out before we were able to sit down. I ordered the Hutchinson Famous Pulled Pork Sandwich with their pigtail fries. My wife ordered the Catfish dinner. The food took a while to come out but that was to be expected with how busy they were. My sandwich was good, but I wouldn’t consider it “famous”, it was OK. My wife really liked the Catfish, it was crispy and flavorful. We both like the taste of the pigtails. I would come back again and next time I would try something else.
